Term 2 Proud Moments 2017

 Proud Moments

"Speech." I never thought I would finish , but with my awesome teacher (Mrs Hobbs) I got there ."Nice job Olly" were the comments from the crowd . All the trees were bowed at my brilliant presentation .

I'm also proud of going to winter sevens (I had to trial to get in .)

I am proud of ICAS . It really pushed me to my limits , I think I did really well .

I am also proud of going to Gym sports . I think the day turned out pretty well . I tried my hardest and that is all that matters . I think that the results really showed how much effort was put into it . I got first place ."Good job" says Mum .😏

Academics . Who ever thought I would do well . Probably me . I am very proud this term because I got my first Gold medal in mathletics . Which is a big step for me . Yay .

I am very proud of moving up in reading . 6 MONTHS . Thats crazy . Who wouldn't be proud of that . Come on . Thats amazing .

 Speech Reflection .

Don't you think a speech would be easy . Well NO . This term I was lucky enough to present a speech  . Lucky right . Wrong . I did speech this term and it was hard . I spent weeks trying to prepare and write it but overall I came out with a pretty good result . I think I went well in writing it . A bit average for delivering it . I think I spoke a bit to quietly and so the audience didn't hear me . But in the end it didn't matter . All that matters was that I had lots of fun . I didn't engage enough with the audience (eye contact) but my smile was what wrapped it all up .

"Slurp" The fruit suddenly disappears from my hand . "Crunch , crunch " Suddenly I turn around only to see the simian gobbling up the sloppy piece of fruit . A gooey source dribbling down his chin . "Ewwwww "I shout . It looked as if  the cookie monster was scoffing another one of his cookies . "Well he got his name for a reason"Boasts Aylee . We were at the simian cage lucky enough to go behind the scenes for a few animals . One of the people in our class (George.) His Mum works at the zoo . Lucky us 😃. We also got to feed the Giraffes . Their blue tongues were gross and slobbered all over my hand . It was disgusting! Hey overall we had an amazing day at the zoo and all really enjoyed it .

Environment Reflection
We are destroying the environment with out even knowing it. Just for money. Letting oil spill into the ocean. Nets dropping out of our boats killing animals. Plastic bags flying out of our hands and we don`t even care. Cutting down trees where animals live, destroying there lives. Did you know that trees give medicine that cures are dioceses. Food that feeds us.We need to do some thing!

Term 1 Reflection

 

                                      In reading this term we have been doing book talk.
                                                                               We have been learning about the 5 rules.                                                                          
This term in math we have been
learning about symmetry.We did some
rotations.We have been learning how
to draw 3 D shapes.




This term in writing we have been learning how to hook the reader into our
story.

tapa turtle

Tapa Turtle.

This term we have been learning about tapa cloth.

I learned how to carve.You had to carve away from yourself.I also learnt how to make tapa cloth.We learnt all the steps to make it.There were eight steps.They  are 1.Cut down a mulberry tree.2.Peel away all the white inner bark from the brown inner bark. 3.Roll up the white inner bark.4.lay out bark on wooden log.5.scrap the bark with shells.6.Beat the bark with mullets.7. scratch the inner so it looks like cloth.8.Then paint it with dys. I liked the maths rotations they were very fun.I liked circle power.It was a fun activity where we learnt about symmetry.My favourite activity was wrap it up.We learnt about geometry because in tapa cloth there is lots of patterns.I learnt how to find the lines of symmetry in shapes.I learnt what translation is.It is when you move a shape over,carrying on the pattern.I liked scrunching up the paper.

I dive in, the cold water surrounds me as I start to swim.I could feel the going to fall off."Go Olly,"screamed mum.I swim harder and harder.I could see the finish line up ahead.The flags wave wildly as I zoom by.The water splashes up into my face.I dig it in for the last five meters."Boom,"is the sound as I touch the wall.I fall onto the lane ropes smiling to myself, I had won the race.The red cube gets closer and closer as i receive the prize.

I karate kick the door open bursting through.The sun shines brightly as I pass by.I could feel the heat burning me.I scatter to my first destination ,the amazing,fantastic room 14.I knock cautiously,waiting for an answer.I could feel the nerves moving steadily throughout my body.My fingers tremble with fear as i wait patiently.Suddenly…

“Hello”says a familiar voice,it’s my cheeky brothers. ”Recycling please”i reply cheerfully “Man you look sweater than dad after he has been for a run,”I quickly peek inside their classroom and it was a mess.
